We have lots of options this year and with the season only 4 weeks away, we sorta need to get going soon! I have created a "fake" league on Yahoo to see how it would set up and what we could do with it, and i think no matter what formats, or scorings we come up with we should run it on Yahoo, it would be ALOT easier for me, and you guys can put in your own lineups and chart your players and make your own transactions, etc. With not knows how many players we will have this year i was thinking we could go with a points only system, meaning not playing each other head to head ( if we find out POSITIVELY) that we will have an even amount of players then we can decide to go to the head to head AND points system, but for now i'm treating it as if we will only have points. WIth that being and considering the scoring options that yahoo provides here is my suggestions for this year, bear in mind these are ONLY suggestions, just a bse where we can start from, all other suggestions are more than welcome!!
We would start 2QB, 3WR, 2RB, 1K, 1DEF, and we would carry 7 players on our bench. Yahoo does not allow for a "UTIL" player in the lineups or believe me i would have included it! The 7 players you would carry on your bench would and can be ANYONE you want, you could carry 6 QB's if you wanted, or 5 K's if you wanted to or just 1 DEF if you wanted to, as long as you had at least the required starting positions then your bench guys could be anyone you wanted to have. This also gives us 2 LESS players on our teams, we would have 16 instead of 18, so we would have 2 less rounds of the draft.
The scoring would remain pretty much the same, with the exceptions being, we could not have increasing amounts of negative points for INT's and FBL's. So instead of having -1 on the first then -2 on the second, then -3 etc, we could only have 1 value for all INT's and FBL's such as -2 for every INT and -1 for every FBL. Also yaho does not differentiate between a RB or a QB when it comes to fumbles so if your QB fumbles you will lose points for it! The other thing i would suggest is that we incorporate "fractional points" into our league, all this means is, lets say, last year that if your RB runs for 19yds you would get 1pt, BUT with "fractional points" in this years league you would get 1.9pts. Much better? So if Samkon Gado ran for 32yds he would get 3.2pts, and if Adrian Peterson ran for 168yds he would get 16.8pts. anyway its something we need to decide if we want to do. I think most of the scoring can be the same, up to you guys really.
Yahoo Fantasy Football i think will be pretty much like the fantasy baseball, pretty easy to use and lots of info available for you, I think that it will also predict what your players will score, at least thats what it did for mike last year when he played.
Anyway so here is the chance to post your feelings and let everyone know what you would like, what you wouldn't like and what suggestions you have, i thought that this would be the best way since we really didn't get a chance to get together and talk about what we wanted to do.
